Well, its been Approximately 14 months since our last post on here, so its probably a good time to catch everyone up on what we have been doing. A couple of things have happened, so here goes, hopefully after this, we'll keep this updated more often.
My cats are still useless, but more on them in the next blog.
I graduated from college, bout damn time!! Graduated from Northern Illinois University in May with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science with a Minor in Philosophy, with Honors. Graduated Cum Laude they say. And my reward is.. on to the work force :-\
Thankfully, I did not have to wait long for a job, I had actually accepted an offer from BMC Software, Inc. to work in their IMS Research and Development team as a Software Developer. The main programming language used is Assembler, which is basically bit level code. (Before you knock it, it was use frequently in the iconic First Person Shooters Doom and Wolfenstein!). The only problem was there was a relocation involved. Therefore, we relocated to...
Houston, Texas! Don't think too many people had us pegged for going to Houston Texas, but it was the best offer I received by far. With the economy the way it was, (and not helping was the fact I was working in Real Estate) I went with the move. The move was 1100 miles total, and we drove my car down, and had Angel's Nissan Altima towed down there (useless exercise, see why in a second).
We got a 2 bedroom apartment in the west side of Houston, near a suburb called Katy. Once again, we're on the 3rd floor (for the 3rd time!). Pretty nice place, the cats grew accustomed to it quickly. The drive's only 15 minutes, which is great for me, due to the car situation (having a car with no AC in Houston, Texas = Bad Idea). Rectified this as well.
I traded in the Honda Accord and leased a 2009 Nissan Altima. The 2.5 SL model. It has 2.5L 4 Cylinder Engine producing 175 HP, and a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). Angel and I both love the car. She loves it so much, that she gave HER Nissan Altima (a 1998) to her sister. Her sister came down to pick it up and drive back with it. Good times, and speaking of a Wanland sibling...
You might be wondering.. "What happened to the house they used to own in Illinois?" Well my friends, we still have it. (The cause of our money problems haha). Thankfully, in October of 2009 we were able to rent it out to Angel's brother Brandon. We discounted the price for two reasons, A. he's family, B. there was some repairs that needed to be done to the house. We had the kitchen and bathroom remodeled (Angel's father Bill Wanland did the work, he did an excellent job! Pictures to follow). We also recently had a new AC and furnace installed. This was because the furnace was 40 years old, and there was no AC in the house. Was a good thing, as the furnace killed over 2 days before Dowe & Wagner came to install a new one. Thats what happened to the house in Harvard.
Finally, I'll cap it off with our big event.. our wedding!! Yep, that finally happened after 8 years. We got married December 5, 2009 at the Clock Tower Resort in Rockford, Illinois. Was a great time to be had for sure. Angel will comment more about this as well. We had a honey moon in Las Vegas, we stayed at my parents 2nd home (they have the same problem we do, only on a grander scale). We were out there for a week, during which time Angel was sick for 5 out of 7 days. Good job sweetie.
Well thats too much typing for me, I'll talk to you all later.
Rock On!

The Iron Maiden Phenomenon
The Iron Maiden Phenomenon is quite the damndest thing I've ever seen. Apparently, what happens is when you listen to Iron Maiden while playing Tetris, you level up and whup up on the blocks. For example, Angel was up to Level 19 today while playing Tetris with Iron Maiden in the background. Before this, she had not been up to Level 15. Phenomenon? You be the judge, try it. I recommend "Run to the Hills" to test this theory on. Let us know what you get.
